Galerie Cinema – smallest cinema in the Ruhr area

The cinema Galerie Cinema was opened in 1971 in an old art gallery with 43 seats. The special feature of the cinema since its opening is that films are always shown in their original sound or language. These are provided with German subtitles. In the usual film screening, the sound is subsequently dubbed with German and is shown without subtitles. In addition to the digital projection that is common today, the Galerie Cinema also offers the possibility of showing analogue films in 35 mm on a screen. Since June 1975, Harold & Maude has been shown at the Galerie Cinema at least once a week in the original version with German subtitles.
